CACFP Renewals for Fiscal Year 2026 will start on August 1, 2025 and applications will close on August 15, 2025. The operating Fiscal Year for CACFP is October through September and Fiscal Year 2026 will start on October 1, 2025 and end on September 30, 2026.
Food Program Coordinators and Authorized Representatives listed in CNPweb will receive the CACFP Renewal Memo in their inboxes in late July 2025.
To get ready for CACFP Renewals, we encourage you take the following steps:
- Notify your assigned Child Nutrition Specialist if there are any changes to the Authorized Representative or Food Program Coordinator roles and update your Sponsor Info Sheet in CNPweb for Fiscal Year 2025.
- The Food Program Coordinator must complete all required CACFP Annual Trainings - the training memo will be sent out June 2, 2025.
- Talk with your administration and team and work together to collect the information you need for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 operating period of October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026. Information needed will include: Sites that will be operating and the meal service times and dates, months of operation, lead site staff, your operation's CACFP management plan, and more.
- If you are a CACFP sponsor on a school year calendar with site(s) operating in September 2025, check your CNPweb FY 2025 applications to ensure that your Site Info Sheet is up to date.
-
Budgets: Required for all non-school food authority sponsors
- Work with your finance staff to review your FY 2025 budget and update it for FY 2026. If you did not have a FY 2025 budget, ask your Child Nutrition Specialist to send you the last budget on file with ODE CNP.
This is a repeat article from last month.
USDA regulations require that all CACFP sponsors complete CACFP Annual Training each year (7 CFR 226.16(d)(2)). To meet this requirement, ODE CNP creates trainings on civil rights and assorted relevant topics and requires all CACFP sponsors to complete the assigned trainings prior to CACFP Renewals in August.
For Fiscal Year 2025, ODE CNP will be releasing the online-only trainings on June 2, 2025 and sponsors will be required to complete the trainings by August 1, 2025.
ODE CNP will send out the training links via a standalone memo to the Food Program Coordinator with full details on how to complete the training requirements. Additional reminders will be included in the June and July Knowing and Growing Newsletters.
