Previewing a 2025-27 CTE Revit Grant at Oregon ACTE

In anticipation of a possible CTE Revitalization Grant for the 2025-27 biennium, ODE CTE staff will share information at the Oregon ACTE Annual Conference to assist in your development of a Revit Grant program.

If you'd like to provide a summer email address to receive any Revit news during July-August, please email the ODE CTE Revit Grant Team.

The 2025 Oregon ACTE Annual Conference will be in Seaside, Oregon, April 16-18, 2025.

Please note: We will not have confirmation of a new Revit Grant or information on funding levels until after the state legislature adjourns in June--but advance planning is encouraged!

Douglas HS Culinary Program: No Such Thing as "Too Many Cooks"

The Douglas High School Hospitality and Tourism program is a launchpad to future careers in the food industry. Backed by applied learning and strong community support, students are gaining essential skills and confidence to aid them on their career journeys.

"The Education Gap": KUHS Documentary Recognized in C-SPAN StudentCam Competition

"The Education Gap," a six-minute documentary produced by Klamath Union High School students Zoe Bitzer and Kenzi Freid, has been recognized as one of the top films submitted in the 2025 C-SPAN StudentCam competition. The film earned an Honorable Mention designation among more than 1,700 entries from across the nation.

The film addresses the theme question--"Your Message to the President: What issue is most important to you or your community?"--with a focus on allocating funds to reduce the gap in education caused by pandemic school closures.

The KUHS film program has been funded in part by an ODE CTE Revitalization Grant.

Harbor Freight Tools for Schools: Recognizing Teaching Excellence

 

The Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence recognizes outstanding skilled trades teachers and programs in public high schools in the U.S.

In 2025, overall prizes will total $1.5 million:

  • 5 Grand Prize Winners will each receive $100,000, with $70,000 going to the public high school skilled trades program and $30,000 going to the eligible individual skilled trades teacher.
  • 20 Prize Winners will each be awarded $50,000, with $35,000 going to the public high school skilled trades program and $15,000 going to the eligible individual skilled trades teacher.

Deadline to apply is May 2, 2025.

Help celebrate CTE in Oregon by submitting stories to the #ThisIsCTE social media campaign.

By submitting photos, videos, and/or social media content highlighting exciting things students are doing in CTE programs across the state, you can support the campaign's goal to promote awareness of career and technical education and its many positive impacts for students, schools, and communities.
