RE: Revised CACFP Policy and Procedure Manual for Center-Based Sponsors

The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) is proud to present our revised Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Policy and Procedure Manual for Center-Based Sponsors. The manual provides guidance to CACFP sponsors in Oregon on CACFP requirements, including program-specific material. Sponsors are required to be familiar with the manual and should use it as reference for implementing CACFP procedures.

This current version includes new chapters on Single Audit Requirements (Chapter 23) and the Appeal Process (Chapter 26) as well as new appendices on Terms and Acronyms (Appendix A), Frequently Asked Questions (Appendix B), and Tools and Resources (Appendix C). Hyperlinks to regulations and resources have been added to all chapters. Additional regulatory or policy changes since 2022 have been highlighted throughout the manual.

This March 2024 version of the manual supersedes the April 2022 version of the manual. Future updates will be completed on a quarterly basis. Due to these recurring updates and the embedded links, ODE CNP recommends downloading the file or bookmarking the link for quick reference instead of printing the manual.

ODE CNP will be developing new CACFP training videos to go along with the revised manual with a planned release date in Fiscal Year 2025.
