It's time for sponsors of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) to complete renewal requirements for continued participation. All requirements must be completed by 4/21/2023.
The requirements are broken up into three steps--training, online forms, and offline forms.
- Training
SFAs must complete the annual Civil Rights trainings listed below. In addition, SFSP annual trainings are required and SFAs have two options to complete the annual training requirements. Only one option is required to be completed.
The Food Program Coordinator must complete the following by 3/31/2023:
Option A:
SFSP Annual Training was presented at OSNA on Friday, March 10, 2023. If you attended this, your SFSP annual training requirement is complete.
Option B:
Training, and accompanying instructions, are available on the ODE CNP SFSP Training webpage.
The SFSP Food Program Coordinator, as listed in CNPweb for FY2023, must complete all of the mandatory trainings before the sponsor renewal can be approved.
The Food Program Coordinator must complete the following trainings by 4/21/2023:
- Summer Food Service Program Updates- Final Rule
- SFSP Basics: Requirements for Staff Training
- Staffing
- SFSP Basics: Evaluating Areas and Selecting Sites
- SFSP Basics: Site Eligibility and Documentation*
- SFSP Basics: Enrolled Sites, Participant Eligibility, and Documentation**
- SFSP Camp Training, if applicable
- SFSP Basics: Meal Service and Meal Pattern
- SFSP Basics: Monitoring
- SFSP Basics: Recordkeeping
- Program Payment
- SFSP Training for Site Supervisors
- SFSP Training for Monitors
- Non-Congregate Summer Meals in Rural Areas***

* Indicates only required for sponsors of Open and Closed Enrolled Sites using area eligibility
** Indicates only required for sponsors of sites using participant eligibility information
*** Indicates only required for sponsors applying to serve non-congregate meals in eligible rural areas
Regardless of which option the sponsor selects to complete annual training, additional training(s) may be required pending guidance from USDA.
- To confirm completion of all required SFSP trainings, complete and submit the SFSP Training Certification Form to ode.communitynutrition@ode.oregon.gov. This form is located on the SFSP Training webpage.
2. Online Forms
Online forms can be found in CNPweb and they will be made available 4/3/2023.
The following online forms must be completed:
- Available in CNPweb: Sponsor Info Sheet and ALL Site Info Sheet(s)
- Available in SmartSheet: Management Plan
- Sponsors with a Management Plan for the CACFP may elect to apply the CACFP Management Plan to the SFSP within this form if it applies to SFSP operations
3a. Offline Forms
Offline forms are available on the CNPweb Packet tab. Please email completed forms to the Community Nutrition email address. Include in the subject line: FY2023 SFSP Renewal [Sponsor Name]. Please submit forms as individual documents; do not combine forms into one document.
The following offline forms must be completed:
- Free Meal Policy Statement
- Vended Meal Agreement, if applicable
- Rural Non-Congregate Meal Distribution Plan Excel Document, if applicable
3b. CNPweb Forms
Complete the following forms as necessary and submit to the Community Nutrition email address.
- To add new sites, complete and submit the Site Add/Modify form
- To remove site, complete and submit the Inactivate Site form
- To modify CNPweb users:
- To add users, complete and submit the User Authorization Request and Certification Form
- To remove users, submit the User Authorization Termination Form
