The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) is releasing our annual Civil Rights training. This online-only training includes the main Civil Rights Training that has been updated for 2023 and a new Racial and Ethnic Data Collection training that incorporates new guidance from USDA Memos CACFP 11-2011/SFSP 07-2021 and CACFP 09-2022/SFSP 05-2022.
Both the Civil Rights Training and Racial and Ethnic Data Collection Training are required for all CACFP and SFSP Food Program Coordinators. The two trainings are part of Annual Training requirements for both the CACFP and SFSP. Food Program Coordinators who operate both the CACFP and SFSP are only required to view the trainings and complete the required quiz and verification statement once to satisfy the requirement for both programs.
By March 31, 2023, the Food Program Coordinator for the CACFP and/or the SFSP must complete the following:
- View the trainings:
- Complete the short quiz and verification statement:
An e-mail receipt with your responses will be sent after the completion of the quiz. Save this e-mail as verification that the required training has been completed. This does not need to be submitted to ODE CNP unless requested.
This is the first part of required annual trainings for both the CACFP and SFSP. Additional training requirements will be sent out via program memos and newsletters.
While only the Food Program Coordinator is required to take the training, the Authorized Representative and other Responsible Principals of the CACFP and SFSP are also encouraged to take the trainings.
Sponsors who fail to complete all training requirements may be determined to be seriously deficient and may result in a denial of their program renewal application.
If you have questions about this training, reach out to your assigned Child Nutrition Specialist.
