Education Northwest and the Oregon Department of Education have partnered to develop two publicly available data dashboards to help educators learn more about Oregon public high school students’ participation in accelerated learning (Advanced Placement, direct enrollment, dual credit, and International Baccalaureate) and career and technical education (CTE) coursework.
- The Oregon accelerated learning dashboard provides participation rates of high school students in accelerated learning courses from 2016/17-2020/21. It also compares outcomes such as high school graduation, college enrollment, developmental education course enrollment, and college persistence between students who participated in accelerated learning and those who did not.
- The Oregon CTE participation dashboard explores high school students’ participation in CTE programs of study across the state from 2015/16-2020/21. CTE program providers and educators can use these data for completing comprehensive local needs assessments (CLNAs) or engaging in program improvement.
To learn more about the dashboards and how to use them, we invite you to attend a two-part training series this fall. The first training, offered on Tuesday, September 20, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, will cover how to use the dashboards.
During the second training, offered on Wednesday, October 12, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, we will discuss strategies to support equitable access to and engagement in accelerated learning and CTE coursework.
If you have any questions about the trainings or dashboards, please contact Sam Riggs at Education Northwest at sam.riggs@ednw.org or Kristidel McGregor at kristidel.mcgregor@ode.oregon.gov.
