Updated Statewide Sports Guidance

Dear School and District Leaders,

K-12 sports guidance is found on page 2 of the updated indoor recreation and outdoor recreation guidance published by the Oregon Health Authority to align with Governor Brown's recent announcement on outdoor contact sports. These documents are also linked at the end of section 5f (page 74) in the Ready Schools, Safe Learners guidance.

We are providing a draft version of the Outdoor Contact Sports Opt-In Form that would need to be submitted by districts and private school governing bodies opting-in to outdoor K-12 full-contact sports in extreme or high-risk counties. ODE is providing a preliminary look at the form so you know now what will be expected. Next week, ODE will provide an accessible form and directions on how to upload to the ODE website.

With the release of this guidance, ODE has been able to update or restore links to guidance on physical education and visual and performing arts.
