Over the last two weeks, the SIA team has been engaging in after-action and reflection sessions with the numerous partners and individuals involved in supporting the SIA. The SIA Weekly Message is another system that we would love your feedback on as we plan future messages and what topics could be of use and interest to you. Some upcoming topics we plan to cover include:
- Themes and takeaways from the reflection sessions
- Clarity on the Progress Marker monitoring and evaluation framework
- Engaging, elevating, and centering community voice
We would love your feedback on what topics would be supportive to your work with SIA and how this weekly message can improve. Feel free to share your questions, feedback and comments to SIAInfo@state.or.us.
We also wanted to highlight the new Tribal Engagement Toolkit from ODE and the Office of Indian Education. This toolkit provides resources for districts, Tribal Leaders, and Tribal Communities. We hope you will take a look at this important resource for engaging with Oregon's Tribal Communities.
Q: Our district or charter school is still working on finalizing requested small changes, completing our initial application, or finishing our amended plan/budget and won’t be able to submit the additional information this week. Will the ODE SIA team work with us if we need more time?
A: Yes, absolutely! We ask that you contact us through your SIA application manager, SIA ESD Liaison or via SIAInfo@state.or.us to let us know what your needs are and how we can best support you to submit the additional information needed.
- ODE recently shared this September Status one-pager with the legislature, detailing some of the ways applicants advanced equity and authentic community engagement within their SIA plans.
- As you may have seen in a recent message, a new weekly report to better understand every school’s COVID-19 School Status. The information from this weekly Status Report is now being posted on the ODE Website. If you do not see your school reported on the weekly status report please email odecovid19@ode.state.or.us or check with your district administrator.
