SIA Update

Reminder You’re Invited to an Optional Workshop Opportunity:

Sharing, Insights, and Development of Growth Targets and an SIA Evaluation Approach
June 25 from 1-2:30pm

This workshop is designed to honor the time, energy and effort you have poured into the development of Longitudinal Performance Growth Targets (LPGTs), and to deepen connections and continuity of learning. We want to provide insights we’ve gained while reviewing LPGTs and listen to your feedback for how we can support the monitoring & evaluation process going forward.

During the workshop, ODE will share draft progress markers, developed through rounds of engagement with leading experts, practitioners, and policy advocates. We anticipate the progress markers may change and evolve through the 2020-21 school year based on feedback from school and district leaders, ESDs, and community partners.

While there are many questions about the future of the Student Investment Account, ODE’s intent in sharing progress markers is to continue to advance our collective conversation around the changes in practice and policy that result in improved outcome data.

What are Progress Markers?

Progress Markers are sets of indicators that identify the kinds of changes we would expect to see and would like to see in policies, practices, and approaches over the next three years that we anticipate would lead applicants to reaching their longitudinal performance growth targets for the five common metrics.

Last week ODE released Ready Schools, Safe Learners, the initial guidance for how public and private schools will take next steps to plan for the 2020-21 school year. We want to hear from you! Let us know your ideas for improvements to the guidance by participating in our feedback survey.
