As previously shared, the SIA Team continues to review SIA Grant Applications while waiting for additional direction from the Governor’s office as it relates to funding for this grant. As of today, ODE reviewers have completed 134 joint assessments of applications and we’re finalizing a plan for communicating with applicants about their application status over the next few weeks.
We recognize many of you are eager for an update and we want to honor the time, energy, and efforts you poured into developing your SIA plans. While we continue to navigate multiple pathways in this new time and space, we see sharing a status update as a broader learning opportunity to support overall community engagement, continuous improvement and systems change.
Shortly after sharing a status update with each applicant, ODE will provide more information about an opportunity to engage in a discussion on longitudinal performance growth targets. While purely invitational, we hope this opportunity will support learning for districts who have the capacity and availability, while simultaneously honoring applicants who have other priorities and needs at this time.
ODE is currently working with partners to create a plan for the 2020-2021 school year. As you can imagine, this is a complex undertaking with many moving parts as we work to ensure care, connection, and continuity of learning. Our hope is to share this plan in June. Your ideas, concerns, questions, and continued involvement are welcome. Please complete this short survey to share your perspective and help us keep track of your input in a thoughtful way that can inform our process. - As you can imagine we are receiving emails from parents all across the state.
