We wanted to highlight a few upcoming professional learning opportunities in the coming days/weeks.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to Deb Bailey, STEM Education Specialist, Noelle Gorbett, Science Assessment Specialist, or Jamie Rumage, Science Education Specialist, if you have any questions or concerns.

Remember, while we are experiencing this challenge together, we encourage you to find ways to care and connect with learning communities.  In support of this effort, we will be providing office hours to connect us every Thursday from 3:00 - 4:00 PM PDT from April 30th until June 11th. If you are interested, please use this link to participate . This will provide a platform to share promising practices and practical problem-solving strategies.

Oregon Open Learning Hub Launch

The Oregon Department of Education is excited to launch the Oregon Open Learning Hub! This is a digital resource repository and collaboration space for educators, administrators, and other educational partners to curate, create, and remix open educational resources (OER). Join this webinar to learn about the Hub and how you can get connected.

OSU Precollege Program

Virtual Professional Development for Teachers

OSU Precollege Programs launches a series of FREE virtual professional development and learning experiences for K-12 educators. A series of virtual lessons will provide college connections and cover STEM content based on curricular materials developed by Precollege Programs in collaboration with researchers and partners. 

As a response to targeted COVID-19 pandemic initiatives, this series aligns with the Oregon Department of Education’s Extended School Closure Guidance - Distance Learning for All: Ensuring Care, Connection and Continuity of Learning.

JOIN us in a series of virtual professional development sessions for educators. Gather helpful resources for teaching our lessons to your students online!

STEM Chat: Recess for Teachers

The first week of STEM Happier Hour Chats: Recess for Teachers was a great success! Many thanks for the wonderful connections and enthusiastic participation.  Over 60 educators at all grade levels from all over the state have registered. We hope this casual connection with other Oregon educators is a highlight of your week. These are made possible by the South Metro-Salem STEM Partnership.
