2020 Voter Registration for High School Students

For high schools with 17- and 18-year-old students, please remind students of the upcoming voter registration for Oregon’s Primary on May 19. The deadline for registration is April 28. Students must be 18 years old by May 19 or November 3 to vote.

  • April 28: Registration Deadline for Oregon Primary
  • May 19: Primary Election Day
  • October 13: Registration Deadline for State and Federal General Election
  • November 3: State and Federal General Election

To register to vote online, students will need an Oregon driver's license, permit or ID card number issued by the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division (DMV). If they do not have an Oregon driver's license, permit or ID card, they can still use the online voter registration application. The information entered will display on a voter registration card (PDF document) that they will need to print, sign and deliver to their county elections office to complete registration.

Instead of registering to vote online, they can complete a Voter Registration form and return it to their county elections office.

Registration Deadline

A new registrant must submit their online registration by 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the 21st calendar day before an election to be eligible to vote in that election.
