SIA Update

The deadline to submit an application by April 15, 2020 remains unchanged; however, districts and eligible charter schools are now allowed to submit partial or incomplete applications in order to remain eligible to receive SIA funds.

NEW! For Partial Application Submission

The SIA Grant Application Form has been updated to allow applicants to submit a partial application. Two questions have been added in Section 2 of the form:

  • Is this a complete SIA Grant Application? (Yes/No)
  • Please share which sections or parts of the application are incomplete and/or what supports you need to complete these sections or parts.

This Week’s Frequently Asked Question

Q: How will plans be reviewed to ensure SIA funding is being used to impact historically underserved communities?

A: Each plan will be reviewed by two ODE staff members who have participated in an SIA Grant Application Training. ODE Reviewers will review individually and then with a joint assessment to ensure applicants meet the requirements of the law, which includes engagement and input from students and families of focal groups to inform the SIA plan.

More details about the review process can be found in Section 3 of the SIA Guidance, with the recognition that some pieces such as the panels have changed for this year.
