Upcoming Site Visits
Site visits are a great way for the Oregon Department of Education’s High School Success (HSS) team to learn local context, partner with educators and administrators on HSS plans, and answer questions regarding HSS plan revisions, budgets, or other strategies to improve equitable access and outcomes for all Oregon students. The HSS Team looks forward to visiting the majority of our recipients over the next several years.

Change in Plans?
For many districts, charters, youth corrections education programs (YCEPs), and juvenile detention education programs (JDEPs), there was a funding change greater than 10 percent. On our website, we’ve posted step-by-step instructions on how to revise your approved plan. You may also contact your HSS Point of Contact with any questions. We’d like all plan changes due to a change in allocation completed by December.

Thank You!
We want to thank everyone for submitting their annual report of expenditures for the 18-19 school year. In an effort to accurately reflect how districts, charters, and YCEP/JDEP programs have expended funds to establish or expand High School Success programs, we reviewed all 2018-2019 approved plans and submitted expenditure reports to ensure they were aligned. This process connected us with district and school leaders, as well as their business offices, where we had many conversations around HSS funds and activities. We also received important feedback on how we can provide better support to the recipients moving forward. This alignment allows us to be able to accurately report the individual and collective activities each recipient engaged in over the last two years. This data will help inform our team as we continue to partner with districts and schools to improve outcomes for all of Oregon’s youth. Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of Oregon’s students, families and communities and upholding our shared commitment to equity and excellence for every learner.
Recipients who received less than $100,000 for High School Success during the first year of the 17-19 biennium were recently invited to apply for the CTE Revitalization Grant. If you have any questions about CTE Revitalization or the application process, please contact Dan Findley.
