The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) will begin accepting renewal applications for private security entity licenses starting May 1, 2025. The licensing period for this renewal will be from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. When applying for license renewal, you will use the same form as the initial application, and the application processing will be similar.

Helpful tips for completing the application successfully:

1. Complete the application in its entirety.

2. Be sure to check the box labeled Renewal.

3. The Entity Information and Financially Interested in the Entity sections, if there are no changes, please check the box labeled No Change.

4. Sign the application.

5. All Entity Representatives must take the entity exam as part of the renewal application. The previous certificate of completion for this training is only valid for 60 days after completion. We have reset all your Workday accounts so you can retake the exam.

DPSST will issue Temporary Authorization Forms (TAF) to entities that have submitted a completed application, a full licensing fee, and have a designated executive manager licensed by DPSST.

All licenses and Temporary Authorization Forms (TAF) issued for the 2024-2025 licensing period will expire on July 1, 2025.
