North Phoenix Road reopens
PHOENIX —North Phoenix Road is open again after a full weekend of construction to connect two new road alignments. The temporary northbound Interstate 5 exit 24 on-ramp is expected to open later this evening.
The opening tonight of North Phoenix Road includes the opening of a new connector to Grove Road at Fern Valley Road.
All business access remained open over the weekend. Under the new traffic change, Grove Road is the new access to The Home Depot and Lazy Boy Furniture.
Local traffic should be alert to the traffic change. Intermittent construction will continue on the newly opened roadways.
Project Background
The $72 million Fern Valley Interchange project began in spring 2014. Due to its size and complexity — encompassing east and west Phoenix roadways, I-5 and Oregon 99 — the project requires more than two full construction seasons for completion.
