Oregon 238 night closure set for bridge replacement
WILLIAMS – Oregon 238, north of Water Gap Road, will be closed for up to three nights so a short bridge over an irrigation ditch can be replaced. A detour will be in effect at night using North Applegate Road.
Beginning Tuesday night, March 3 through Thursday, March 5, the highway will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. at mile point 11.7 so the old bridge can be replaced with three, 30-inch in diameter- culverts. The road will be open to a single lane of traffic during the day under flagger control. The entire project should take about a week to complete.
“It’s critical we replace this bridge because the old support timbers are weak,” said ODOT District Manager Jerry Marmon.
Highway users may contact ODOT Project Manager Adam Stallsworth for more information, 541-890-2620.
