Motorists reminded of local detours for
Lewis and Clark River Bridge closure
ASTORIA—Motorists trying to get to businesses next to the closed Lewis and Clark River Bridge are reminded that local detours are available. Motorists coming from Seaside or local motorists in the area can use Fort Clatsop Road to Lewis and Clark Road to access local businesses near the bridge, as well as the U.S. 101 detour which is the main detour route.
A full closure of the Lewis & Clark River Bridge started on December 1 so a contractor working for ODOT could begin rehabilitation work on the bridge. The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed until late summer.
The contractor will also be working on the Old Youngs Bay Bridge but both bridges will not be closed at the same time. Motorists should plan for intermittent bridge and lane closures over the next three years for the $16.7 million bridge rehabilitation project.
