Closures coming in and around exit 17 on I-84

Two road closures are planned this week related to the improvement project at exit 17 along Interstate 84 in Troutdale.

The work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled.

Here are details of the closures.

  • From 10 p.m. Thursday Nov. 13 until 5 a.m. Friday Nov. 14, westbound I-84 will be closed at exit 17 to move traffic to a temporary roadway. Westbound traffic will leave the highway at exit 17 and take the North Frontage Road to the on-ramp back to westbound I-84.
  • From 10 p.m. Friday Nov. 14 until 5 a.m. Monday Nov. 17, southbound Marine Drive will be closed under I-84. The closure is necessary to allow demolition of the old overpass. Motorists will be detoured onto the I-84 eastbound on-ramp at the North Frontage Road to exit 16 where they can take to westbound I-84 to exit 17 and the South Frontage Road.

The Troutdale Interchange Project will widen Marine Drive between the two frontage roads, replace the I-84 overpass at Marine Drive and improve the two Marine Drive intersections at the Frontage roads.
