RVACT looks at transportation funding challenge

MEDFORD — The transportation funding challenge is the featured presentation at the next Rogue Valley Area Commission on Transportation meeting, scheduled 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the ODOT offices, 100 Antelope Road, in White City. The RVACT meeting is open to the public. Time is set aside for public input.

According to Assistant ODOT Director Travis Brouwer, inflation has driven up construction costs. What used to build a mile of roadway in 1993 now only builds half a mile.

The agenda includes updates on the Central Point Exit 33 Interchange Area Management Plan as well as updates on local construction and the Oregon Transportation Commission.

ODOT attempts to hold all public meetings in accessible buildings. Accommodations will be provided to persons with disabilities, and alternate formats of printed material are available upon request. Please call Gary Leaming, 541-774-6388, at least 48 hours prior to the meeting (or statewide relay 7-1-1). Visit RVACT online here: http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/COMM/pages/act_rvact.aspx
