24 hour flagging scheduled for OR 58 at the
Salt Creek Tunnel
OAKRIDGE— A contractor for ODOT will seal the decks of two newly constructed half viaducts, pave over those bridges and adjacent structures, and correct rough pavement on the west side approach to the OR 58: Salt Creek Tunnel.
The work will result in a single lane restriction that will require flagging 24 hours per day on OR 58 (Willamette Hwy.), approximately 21 miles east of Oakridge (MP 56).
Beginning 7 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 and continuing until noon on Friday, September 19, travel through the work zone and the tunnel will be controlled by a pilot car. Motorists should plan for up to 20 minute delays, 24 hours per day, during that time.
During the following two weeks, the project will result in daytime single lane restrictions between the hours of 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The work is weather dependent and should inclement weather occur, the schedule could change without notice.
The project, which will apply a waterproof membrane and pave over the viaducts, and repave a portion of the approach to the west tunnel entrance to improve the smoothness of the ride, is scheduled for completion on September 30.
Wildish Construction was awarded the low bid contract of $215,000.
