Eastern Oregon Highway construction update
LA GRANDE, Ore. – As the summer construction season in eastern Oregon continues, many projects are completed and others are just starting up. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared for possible delays and traffic impacts by checking TripCheck.com and planning for extra travel time.
New work expected to start this or next week includes eight miles of pavement upgrades on I-84 between La Grande and North Powder, concrete repairs on I-84 between Huntington and Farewell Bend, bridge deck repairs on I-84 near Ontario and on U.S. 95 in south Malheur County, and sidewalk upgrades in John Day.
Major changes in project schedules include the delay of the temporary closure of Whiskey Creek Road in Wallowa County and the postponement of some chip seal work until 2015.
