SHERMAN COUNTY

I-84 @ US97 INTERCHANGE – BIGGS JUNCTION

MP 104.5 and MP 0 to 2

KERR Contractors is building a modernization project at the Biggs Junction Interchange. The project will significantly widen US97 and all of the interchange ramps. The project also includes new retaining walls, bridges and signals. The work will take place in stages to minimize any traffic delays. The first stage will take place this summer, and it will include constructing the West half of the new US97 bridges over I-84 and UPRR. The project will be completed in the summer of 2015.

During the week of March 16th to March 22nd the contractor will begin forming the decks for the new US97 bridges over I84 and UPRR, work will start back up to top off the MSE wall construction at the bridge abutments, continue the WB On ramp embankment, and continue slope excavation along US97. I84 is reduced to one lane in both EB and WB direction. Speeds on I84 through the work zone have been reduced to 50 MPH. Expect occasional flagging on US97 at the ramp and US30 intersection locations for select operations. Delays during flagging operations will be less than 20 minutes. Expect lots of construction traffic moving around within the work zone. Keep a safe distance back from construction traffic.

WASCO COUNTY

(I-84 MOSIER WB BRIDGE STRENGTHENING)

MP 69.65

ODOT has contracted with M.J. Hughes to strengthen the Mosier I-84 WB Connection Structure (Overpass to I-84). This bridge currently has a load restriction; the project will strengthen the structure to allow removal of the load restriction. The project includes installation of titanium reinforcement bar on the undersides of the bridge girders, installation of shear dowels, and an asphalt overlay. The project will be completed by June 6th.

Access to the structure will primarily be from I-84. During construction I-84 will have one lane closures both EB and WB. These closures will happen both during the day and at night. During periods of high traffic volumes motorists may experience minor delays and slow moving traffic. Construction is expected to begin March 31st.

During the week of March 16th to March 22nd no onsite work is expect and there should be no delays.
