Trucking Advisory: Width Restrictions for I-84 in Eastern Oregon, MP 248 - 261
Meacham to La Grande
Beginning as early as March 31, 2014, the second construction season of a three-year project along I-84 from MP 248 to MP 260.7 will begin, resulting in the following restrictions for Eastbound and Westbound traffic:
Eastbound:
• 12 feet 00 inches overall width restriction (including eaves on mobile homes)
Westbound:
• 14 feet 00 inches overall width restriction (including eaves on mobile homes)
• The I-84 Westbound on-ramp from US30 at Exit 259 will be closed
In addition, due to multiple 6-degree curves within the project area, there will also be length restrictions needed for longer loads/combinations. An additional trucking advisory will be issued the week of March 10th to announce the specific length restrictions. Contact the Over-Dimension Permit Unit for more information.
These restrictions will be in effect at all hours, seven days a week, and are estimated to last until November 1, 2014.
Detour Route for Width Restrictions: Loads exceeding these dimensions will need to take authorized alternate routes, such as US20 & US97.
Detour Route for Ramp Closure: When the I-84 Westbound on-ramp from US30 at Exit 259 is closed, traffic can take US30 to OR82 and enter I-84 Westbound at Exit 261.
For questions or assistance with determining authorized alternate routes, please contact the Over-Dimension Permit Unit Monday-Friday between 7 am and 5 pm at (503) 373-0000.
