Occasional night ramp closures start March 10
at Glencoe Road and U.S. 26
NORTH PLAINS -- The eastbound and westbound on-ramps and off-ramps linking Glencoe Road with U.S. 26, the Sunset Highway, will see intermittent night closures starting March 10.
The closures will take place during a two-week period between March 10 and April 30, the starting time dependent on the weather.
Monday through Friday, the closures will take place 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. On Saturday and Sundays, the closures will be 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Only two ramps will be closed at the same time, either the westbound off-ramp and eastbound on-ramp or the westbound on-ramp and eastbound off-ramp.
The ramp closures are necessary to make way for paving and striping on the ramps.
Here is the detour information:

When the ramp from Glencoe Road to westbound U.S. 26 is closed, traffic should take U.S. 26 east to Jackson School Road, exit 59, cross over the highway and enter U.S.26 westbound.

When the ramp from eastbound U.S. 26 to Glencoe Road, exit 57, is closed, traffic should continue east on U.S. 26 to Jackson School Road, exit 59, cross over the highway to the westbound U.S.26 on-ramp and take U.S. 26 west to Glencoe Road, exit 57.

When the ramp from Glencoe Road to eastbound U.S. 26 is closed, traffic should take U.S. 26 west to Dersham Road, exit 55, and cross over the highway to the eastbound U.S. 26 on-ramp.

When the ramp from westbound U.S. 26 to Glencoe Road, exit, 57, is closed, traffic should take exit 59 to Jackson School Road. Traffic bound for northbound Glencoe Road should go north on Jackson School Road and take West Union Road to Glencoe Road. Traffic heading for southbound to Glencoe Road should go south on Jackson School Road to Evergreen Road and west to Glencoe Road.
The work should be completed no later than April 30.
Motor Carriers need to provide this information to their drivers, by copy of this letter or other means, to assure their awareness of the restriction.
