I-84 @ US97 INTERCHANGE – BIGGS JUNCTION
Highway 2 and 42 - MP 104.5 and MP 0 to 2
KERR Contractors is building a modernization project at the Biggs Junction Interchange. The project will significantly widen US97 and all of the interchange ramps. The project also includes new retaining walls, bridges and signals. The work will take place in stages to minimize any traffic delays. The first stage will take place this summer, and it will include constructing the West half of the new US97 bridges over I-84 and UPRR. The project will be completed in the summer of 2015.
During the week of Feb 16th to Feb 23rd the contractor will continue driving piles, continue building new EB ramp embankments, and begin slope excavation along US97. I84 is reduced to one lane in both EB and WB direction. Speeds on I84 through the work zone have been reduced to 50 MPH. Expect occasional flagging on US97 at the ramp and US30 intersection locations for select operations. Delays during flagging operations will be less than 20 minutes.
