Trucking Advisory:  Overnight ramp closures extended again for OR 126 interchanges in Springfield

 

  

 

SPRINGFIELD— A paving project to resurface OR 126 (Officer Chris Kilcullen Memorial Highway) in Springfield will result in overnight ramp closures until November 1, 2013 at 42^nd Street, Pioneer Parkway, and Mohawk Blvd. The work is weather dependent.

 

Mohawk Blvd. ramps

Effective immediately and continuing until November 1, 2013 the eastbound on- and off-ramps of OR 126 at Mohawk Blvd. will be closed intermittently between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m.

 

Westbound ramps will be closed intermittently between 6 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

 

These closures are not on the OR 126 mainline.

 

Detour:

During the closure, traffic will be directed to use the 42^nd St. interchange, to Marcola road, to access Mohawk Blvd.

 

42^nd Street ramps

Effective immediately and continuing until November 1, 2013, the eastbound on-and-off-ramps of OR 126 at 42^nd Street will be closed intermittently between 7 p.m. and 11 a.m.

 

Westbound ramps will be closed intermittently between 6 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

 

These closures are not on the OR 126 mainline.

 

Detour:

During the closure, traffic will be directed to use the Mohawk Blvd. interchange, approximately one mile west of 42^nd Street, to access Marcola Road and 42^nd Street.

 

 

OR 126 eastbound and westbound on and off ramps to and from Pioneer Parkway (OR 528) & “Q” Street (Springfield)

Effective immediately and continuing until November 1, 2013 the on and off ramps to and from OR 126 eastbound and westbound to Pioneer Parkway (OR 528) and “Q” Street will be closed intermittently between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m.

 

Detour:

During the ramp closures, legal size freight traffic will be directed to Mohawk Blvd. (one mile east of Pioneer Parkway exit), to Centennial Blvd., to Pioneer Parkway.

 

 

Entire project to be completed in October

 

The OR 126: Springfield Paving and Cable Median Barrier project will preserve the existing highway by grinding and replacing two inches of asphalt in most areas and reconstructing the eastbound portions of the 42^nd Street interchange. The project will also improve safety by constructing cable median barrier between Mohawk Blvd. and East Main Street (MP 6.24-9.97).

 

The project is scheduled for completion by November 1, 2013
