State Highway Construction

August 26-September 6, 2013

Lincoln County 

 

US 20 PME: UPRR - Eddyville (Phase 2) MP 16.29 – MP 21.88

Project Summary: The project will be installing horizontal drains, 78” structural plate pipe, rock drainage features and earthwork

Remarks:    The contractor is installing structural plate pipe, horizontal drains, performing excavation, and placing fill. Traffic delays are not anticipated.

 

US20 PME: Simpson Creek Bridge – Deer Creek Road Sec. MP 15.24 – 24.25

Project Summary: The project straightens the current US20 alignment by removing a very sharp curve to the east of Eddyville, Oregon. Signs, pavement markings, drainage features, and traffic warning devices will also be removed, adjusted, and installed throughout the project.

 

Remarks: Construction will continue this week on the new alignment. Trafiic will be on a one lane detour with 24 hour flagging Aug 26 through Aug 29 to connect the new alignment to the existing highway at MP 24, delays are expected to be less than 20 minutes. In addition there will be patching of the highway from MP 16 – 20 performed by ODOT Maintenance the week of Aug 26th this work is expected to last two days, with delays of 5-10 minutes.

 

 

 

US 101: Alsea Bay Bridge Painting- Oregon Coast Highway, Waldport; Contract amount: $2.5 million

Project Summary: The project will remove rust and paint the outer and inner arches of the Alsea Bay Bridge in Waldport. The project will also paint the pedestrian rail and other portions of the bridge not painted during a previous project two years ago. In addition to painting, the project will construct a new steel walkway below the bridge deck. This walkway will allow access for routine bridge inspections.

 

Remarks: From now until project completion, one lane of travel on the four lane bridge will be closed. Work is continuing on the east portion of the bridge. The lane closure is now in the northbound lane. Traffic delays are not expected.

 

 

US101: MP 90.33 – 105.64 – Oregon Coast Highway

Project Summary: US 101 will be repaved from the Hwy18 junction north to just past the Lincoln/Tillamook county line.

Remarks:     The project is expected to complete paving Sunday night, August 25. Striping and shoulder work should be completed by the end of August.

During construction, motorists should anticipate single lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Delays of 5-15 minutes should be anticipated.

 

US101: Beverly Beach – Alsea Bay Bridge – Oregon Coast Highway

Project Summary: US 101 will be repaved from Beverly Beach State Park to the north end of Newport and from just south of Newport to Waldport. There are three parts to the project:

MP 134.08-139.11 (Beverly Beach to the north end of Newport)

MP 146.9 – 153.2 (Approx. Lost Creek recreation area south through Seal Rock)

MP 154.7-155.25 (North end of the Alsea Bay Bridge extending north about a half mile) 

 Remarks:    Beginning approximately August 26 and continuing until approximately September 6, a contractor for ODOT will be paving the northern segment (MP 134.08-139.11).  Construction will take place Monday through Thursday nights between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., and Sunday nights between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.  There will be no construction during the Labor Day Weekend.

 During construction, motorists should anticipate single lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Delays of 5-15 minutes should be anticipated.

 

 

 

Linn County 

 

Region 2 Sign Replacement 2013 – Santiam Highway & Pacific Highway West

Project Summary: The purpose of the project is to replace outdated signs to reflect current standards. Work will occur in three locations, Santiam Highway (US20) in Albany, the Pacific Highway West (OR99W) in Albany, and the Pacific Highway (OR99) between Junction City and Eugene.

Remarks: Construction is underway. Construction activities will be taking place on OR99, just south of Junction City. There will also be construction activities on OR99E and US 20 in Albany. No delays are expected.

Beginning approximately September 8 and continuing until the end of September, the southern segments (MP 146.9-153.2 and 154.7-155.25) will be paved.
