LAKE OSWEGO -- The Lake Oswego DMV at 3 SW Monroe Pkwy, Suite D, is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The agency encourages customers to check the DMV office webpage before visiting in case of a last-minute closure.
The Lake Oswego office was closed periodically from Oct. 6-26 due to plumbing and air quality issues. DMV worked with building management, ODOT’s safety office, and others to investigate and address the source of an odor. Plumbing and HVAC repairs were made during this time. The division hired a private company to do air quality testing for a variety of emissions including natural gas, carbon monoxide, mold and radon; none were detected.
“We received the final test results late last week and wanted to ensure any potential issues were addressed before reopening,” said Oregon DMV Field Services Group Manager David McKay. “We chose to remain closed today out of an abundance of caution, as we place the well-being of our employees and customers above all else, but we look forward to resuming normal operations tomorrow.”
DMV has Express Kiosks in Fred Meyer stores throughout the region including in Beaverton, Happy Valley, Hillsboro, Portland and Tualatin. The kiosks provide customers with convenient access to some DMV services days, nights and weekends in trusted locations across the state.
DMV has added more than 30 online transactions to DMV2U since establishing the platform in 2019, greatly reducing the need to go to an office. Going online saves the customer a trip and shortens waits for those who must complete their transaction in person.
Customers who must visit an office can stop by nearby DMV offices in Gladstone, downtown Portland, Beaverton or Sherwood.
