TIGARD – Watch for flaggers for lane closures and other traffic impacts on Southwest Hall Boulevard between Southwest Omara Street and Southwest Fanno Creek Trail in Tigard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday during work on a pedestrian crosswalk safety improvements there.
Work requires temporary sidewalk and crosswalk closures, with signed, temporary pedestrian accessible detours around the work zone. Bicyclists will share the road with vehicles and use city streets during construction.
We are improving safety for people walking, biking or rolling by installing a new pedestrian-activated crossing, known as a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon, on Hall Boulevard (OR 141) at SW Omara Street and upgrading the existing signalized crosswalk at SW Fanno Creek Trail.
In partnership with the City of Tigard, we are working on a project to enhance safety at a busy, 35 mph corridor in a section where pedestrians have needed to walk over a quarter mile to the nearest signalized intersection.
