Marquam Bridge inspections require overnight lane, ramp closures Sept. 24-26

PORTLAND – There will be overnight closures of ramps and lanes on northbound Interstate 5 at the Marquam Bridge for inspection of the bridge Sept. 24-26.

Inspections will require closures of these areas on these nights:

  • Sept. 24: Southbound Interstate 405 to northbound Interstate 5 single lane closure, and South Harbor Drive partial lane closure.
  • Sept. 25: Northbound I-5 ramp, single lane closure.
  • Sept. 26: Northbound I-5 to northbound I-405 single lane closure, followed by southbound I-405 to southbound I-5 single lane closure.

We are also inspecting lower deck ramps and sections of the bridge during the week – using the Rose Quarter project southbound I-5 closure as an opportunity to get this work done.

We are assessing the needs of the bridge for a maintenance project that is currently in the planning stages.
