GRANTS PASS – Travelers can expect delays of up to 20 minutes on Interstate 5 north of Grants Pass this week. On Tuesday and Thursday, crews will apply new striping to the pavement. On Wednesday, utility crews will repair powerlines over the highway.
Tuesday, Sept. 29
Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., watch for rolling slowdowns in the northbound lanes between Exit 66 (Hugo) and Exit 80 (Glendale).
Wednesday, Sept. 30
Between 8 a.m. and noon, watch for rolling slowdowns in the northbound and southbound lanes between Exit 66 (Hugo) and Exit 80 (Glendale).
Thursday, Oct. 1
Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., watch for rolling slowdowns in the southbound lanes between Exit 80 (Glendale) and Exit 66 (Hugo).
During a rolling slowdown, traffic control vehicles hold traffic to a slow but steady pace. This gives crews a window of time to work safely while keeping traffic moving, avoiding lengthy road closures. Emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through, as needed.
