Expect delays along OR 207 (SW 11th Street) in Hermiston the week of Sept. 21

Sept. 14, 2026

HERMISTON – Travelers along Oregon 207 (SW 11th Street) in Hermiston can expect delays between Highland Avenue and Joseph Avenue beginning Monday, Sept. 21.

Crews will be drilling small test holes in eight locations to assess soil strength and groundwater conditions where we plan to install retaining walls and stormwater systems.

What to expect the week of Sept. 21:

  • Crews working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Potential weekend work if needed.
  • Short-term lane shifts, shoulder closures and reduced speeds.
  • A single-lane closure at SW 11th and W Division Avenue with multiple flaggers to direct traffic.
  • Temporary sidewalk and bike lane detours, with flaggers helping pedestrians navigate work zones.
  • Construction noise – drilling activites can be noisy at times.

Slow down, watch for crews and equipment through the work zone.

This work is an important early step for the OR 207 (SW 11th Street) pedestrian safety project. The information gathered during drilling will help us move forward with the final project design.

Construction is expected to begin in 2029.
