OR 43 will close overnight Aug. 26 and 27 for girder installation

Aug. 20, 2026

OREGON CITY – Construction crews will close southbound Interstate 205 across the Abernethy Bridge 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday night, Aug. 22, to pour concrete on the newly widened bridge deck.

The closure will be between OR 99E and OR 43, and the OR 99E on-ramp to southbound I-205 will be closed for the work from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Northbound I-205 will remain open.

Work depends on dry weather and necessary preparation work, and schedules may change or shift on short notice.

Detours

  • Southbound traffic can bypass I-205 in this section by using detours on I-5, I-84 and the Ross Island Bridge.
  • Local traffic can use the Arch Bridge to cross the river.

As with any construction project, closure dates and timing are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen events. Please visit the project website for ongoing updates.
