COOS BAY – Emergency repairs to OR 540 (Cape Arago Highway) near the intersection with Travis Lane will cause traffic delays on Wednesday, August 19. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to be completed in one day.
Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes. They should watch for flaggers and workers, slow down in the work zone and allow extra travel time. Alternate routes are encouraged.
Over the weekend, a broken water main beneath the highway caused the road surface to collapse. Traffic was detoured while utility crews assessed the damage. Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board is facilitating the repairs.
