“A critical part of the effort to meet the state’s transportation needs will be prioritizing and holding accountable the resources we currently have to keep providing the maintenance of our roads and bridges that Oregonians rely on,” said Governor Kotek. “This survey creates another opportunity to hear from Oregonians about what the state should prioritize to make sure recommendations reflect their input.” 

The Workgroup reviewed the survey at their Aug. 7 meeting and provided feedback to make sure this survey would achieve the goal of providing a neutral space to hear directly from Oregonians. Opportunities to provide additional comments were added to each survey question to achieve this goal.  

“Experts from around the state are working to develop recommendations for Oregon’s transportation future, and we can’t do this effectively without giving Oregonians an opportunity to share their priorities for our transportation system and to be part of this process,” said the Workgroup’s co-chair Grace Crunican. 

The Workgroup is tasked with developing recommendations to maintain and improve our transportation system more efficiently, outlining how Oregon should prioritize its transportation dollars fairly, and affordable options to fund it.  

The brief survey includes the following questions:  

1. What should Oregon’s transportation priorities be?
2. How should limited transportation dollars be spent?
3. What reductions would impact you most? 

There is also an optional question to send feedback to Oregon’s public transportation agencies, asking the question: What does a successful and well-managed transportation system look like to you? What would make you confident that the state’s transportation dollars are being well spent?

The survey will be posted on the social media pages of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), along with partner organizations. ODOT is supporting the governor’s Workgroup in administering the survey.
