WALLOWA COUNTY — Travelers on OR 82 between Minam and Joseph should expect single-lane closures starting next week as crews repair culverts and replace damaged rockfall barriers. Plan for changing traffic patterns and brief delays.
Culvert repairs
Beginning Monday, Aug. 3, expect lane closures with flaggers and delays up to 10 minutes as crews clean and repair culverts along a 36-mile stretch of OR 82. Work will take place at various sites, beginning 2 miles southwest of Minam, milepost 32, to 1/2 mile north of Eggleson Lane, milepost 68.
Traffic control at each work location is expected to last a few hours before crews move to the next site.
Work is scheduled Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed by Oct. 19, 2026.
Rockfall barrier repairs at Wade Point
Beginning Monday, Aug. 10, travelers on OR 82 east of Lostine will see a single-lane closure controlled by a temporary traffic signal operating 24/7. Crews will replace the existing barrier and protective screening with new barrier and fencing as part of a federally funded emergency rockfall project.
Work will take place Monday through Friday. This project is expected to last one month.
Watch for automated traffic control devices!
We are using temporary traffic signals to help guide traffic through the work zone.
Temporary traffic signals work like regular traffic signals:
- Stop when the light is yellow or red.
- Proceed when the light is green and the roadway is clear.
