EV charger rebate program awards $10.9 million, funds nearly 350 new charging stations over three years

Oregon’s electric vehicle drivers have more charging options at home, at work and in their community thanks to three years of project funding from our Community Charging Rebates program.
As of July 2026, the program has awarded $10.9 million in rebates to help fund 1,915 Level 2 EV charging ports among 347 charging stations statewide. About half of those stations are installed and open for use, while the rest are in the planning or construction phases.
The rebate program reimburses some of the project costs of buying and installing Level 2 EV charging stations at multifamily homes, workplaces and publicly accessible parking areas.
EVs tend to spend several hours parked at those locations, and Level 2 charging stations are best suited for longer charging times. Level 2 stations are also cheaper to buy and install than DC fast charging stations, making them a cost-effective investment to close gaps in Oregon’s public EV charging network.

As of July 2026, Oregon has about 3,000 public Level 2 EV charging ports among 1,400 charging stations.
Funding round 5 opens later this year
We expect to launch the fifth rebate opportunity later this year, likely by early fall. Round 5 will only use federal funding, so unlike past rounds, DC fast charging station projects will be eligible for rebates in this round. Funding for Level 2 stations will also be available, but limited.

The Community Charging Rebates program is funded by state sources, plus a one-time federal grant in 2024 from the Environmental Protection Agency. The program has held four rebate opportunities since it was launched in 2023.
Eligible businesses, nonprofits, public entities, Tribes, EV service providers, and owners of multifamily home complexes may apply for rebates. Past rebate amounts maxed out at $8,000 per charging port or 80% of project costs, whichever was less.
