COOS BAY – Effective June 16, 2026, OR540 eastbound and westbound MP 1.73
to MP 2.24 , will be restricted to 10 feet 00 inches in width, daily, from 7:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. Loads over 10 feet 00 inches in width may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis with a 48 hour notice. Contact the Over-Dimension Permit Unit for information.
Additonally, Effective June 16, 2026, the OR540 southbound MP 1.7 to MP 1.9 (Newmark Connection from Broadway Avenue to Newmark Street) will be closed during the same hours. The estimated completion date for this work is June 19, 2026.
Detour
When OR540's connection on OR540 southbound is closed motor carriers can take US101 to Newmark Street, and when the OR540 northbound and southbound section of OR540 is restricted to 10 feet 00 inches in width, motor carriers over 10 feet 00 inches in width will need to avoid traveling through this area during the restricted days/hours, or use authorized alternate routes.
