Monmouth and Independence
ADA Curb Ramps

You'll see more activity on curb ramps in your community soon

Our crews have been working on ADA curb ramps in Monmouth and Independence to improve accessibility for everyone.

Crews are demoing and installing curb ramps throughout the project area in your community. Please remember to watch for workers and drive with caution through the area.

You'll still see crews working on curb ramps on several highways throughout Northwest Oregon, the Willamette Valley and other highways around Oregon.

If you're going through the work zone, expect:

Crews working during the day, Monday through Thursday.
Occasional work at night or on Fridays as needed.
Sidewalk and curb ramp closures. Please follow the posted pedestrian detour routes to the nearest available crosswalk.
Lane shifts as needed.
Shoulder and lane closures as needed.
Flaggers directing traffic as needed.
Businesses near the corners we're working on to remain open during construction.
Delays and construction noise – saw cutting can be loud!

Safety reminder

While you may not always see people working in a coned-off area, it doesn't mean it's not an active work zone.

Cones close off an area that is unsafe for pedestrians and vehicles to move through. The area will remain closed until crews are able to return, repair and reopen.

Please do not move cones or park in coned-off areas.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.

Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
