Aurora-Donald Interchange

Plan for southbound I-5 traffic to shift tonight at the Aurora-Donald interchange
To prepare for work on the final section of the new I-5 bridge, we need to shift southbound traffic tonight, May 27.
Drivers should expect rolling slowdowns, traffic shifts and slower traffic as crews move barriers for southbound lanes onto the new section of the bridge.
|
Here's what you can expect if you're driving on southbound I-5 tonight, May 27:
- Starting with the fast lane around 8 p.m. tonight, May 27, we're closing lanes and shifting traffic to the left.
- We plan to finish shifting southbound traffic onto the center portion of the new bridge by 8 a.m. on May 28.
- Northbound I-5 traffic will be unaffected in the work zone. Please slow down to the posted 55 mph speed limit and watch for our crews.
Keep our crews safe – slow down in the work zone
Other impacts you can expect:
- Crews working daily, Sunday through Thursday with occasional night and weekend work. Up to two lanes closed nightly in either direction on I-5 as needed from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Other roads in the project area to have single lane closures as needed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Reduced speed to 55 mph in the I-5 work zone.
- Construction noise and delays.
- No lane changes are allowed where there are double white lines.
Use caution as you drive through the work zone, there are grooves in the pavement along the median shoulder.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work. Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
