ASHLAND – The next step begins this week in Ashland for a project to upgrade sidewalk curb ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A subcontractor for HP Civil, Inc. will be paving during the day on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17 for new ramps along Oregon 99 (North Main St./East Main St./Lithia Way). Please use caution and watch for workers in the area.

Travelers can expect intermittent lane closures and congestion at each work site as workers progress through the project area. Pedestrian routes will be provided during ramp and lane closures.

Work this week will be completed at as many locations as time and weather allow. The contractor will return in May to finish paving for the remaining curb ramps.

The ongoing work in Ashland is part of a larger project to upgrade ADA curb ramps at intersections throughout Jackson County: Jackson County Curb Ramps Phase 2. Work in Ashland is on schedule for completion by the end of May.
