Travelers should expect intermittent shoulder and lane closures
March 25, 2026
NORTH POWDER – We are upgrading curb ramps in North Powder, Richland, and Halfway to meet current ADA standards. These improvements will make travel safer and more accessible for everyone.
Work begins in North Powder Crews will set up traffic control and temporary signs, then begin cutting into existing corners to replace the ramps. Crews will start at A Street and move toward town. Work in North Powder is expected to continue into early June.
Crews are expected to return to Halfway in June and finish curb ramp upgrades in July.
Construction in Richland is planned for July through September.
All curb ramp upgrades are scheduled to be finished by October 2026. Construction schedules may change due to weather or other unexpected issues.
During construction, you can expect:
- Intermittent shoulder and lane closures.
- Flaggers.
- Access to businesses will remain open during construction.
- All pedestrians will have access through or around work zones.
Watch for work crews and equipment when you see our orange construction signs, cones and barricades. |
