OREGON CITY – OR 99E will close under the Abernethy Bridge in Oregon City on Thursday and Friday nights for girder installation in the I-205 Abernethy Bridge Project.
The work will require closures from 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, to 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, and 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
Detours
- Drivers will be detoured onto I-205. Plan extra time into your trip.
- Pedestrians and cyclists will be flagged through and experience short delays.
The girder installation is part of the upgrade project for the Abernethy Bridge, which spans the Willamette River between Oregon City and West Linn, to withstand a major earthquake. We are also improving safety by realigning on- and off-ramps near the bridge and building new bike and pedestrian routes. We expect to finish this project in late 2026.
As with any construction project, closure dates and timing are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen events. Please visit the project website for ongoing updates.
