The I-205 Abernethy Bridge is fully open between OR 99E and OR 43 after two overnight closures. The new sign bridge is successfully installed and I-205 opened on time both mornings. The existing sign bridge is partially removed and the remaining section will be removed from below and won't require I-205 impacts.
Expect two more overnight closures on the Abernethy Bridge in the coming weeks to install a second sign bridge. We will share details when they are confirmed.

What is this project?
ODOT is upgrading the Abernethy Bridge, which spans the Willamette River between Oregon City and West Linn, to withstand a major earthquake. We are also improving safety by realigning on- and off-ramps near the bridge and building new bike and pedestrian routes. This work is expected to finish in late 2026.
Follow the progress live on the project construction cameras.
