Wonderly Road to Rockcrest Street Paving in Rainier
|
We're going to pave this year!
|
You'll see our crews in the area later this year working to bring the Rainier community a smoother ride on U.S. 30.
When work starts, you can expect:
- Crews working during the day.
- Ramp closures with detours.
- Lane and shoulder closures with flaggers directing traffic.
- Lane shifts as needed.
- Construction noise and delays.
Please use caution and watch for workers when driving through the area.
|
Plan ahead for ramp closures and detours
During construction, we'll need to close the ramps to and from SR 433 on the Lewis and Clark Bridge. Please follow the signed detours during the ramp closures:
We don't know the duration or timing for the closures yet. We'll send out more information when we have a better idea about our schedule.

 About the project
This section of U.S. 30 is damaged and needs repairs. To preserve and improve the road, we plan to:
- Remove and grind down the existing surface.
- Rebuild and install new pavement.
- Apply permanent striping and reflective markers.
- Install new concrete barrier along the center of some sections of the road.
This will help reduce maintenance costs, give travelers a smoother ride and improve safety and accessibility for all.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
