Old Youngs Bay Bridge
|
You may have seen our crews on the Old Youngs Bay Bridge working to replace support beams and posts under the bridge.
Plan ahead for full daytime closures in early 2026
While most of the work is happening under the bridge, we still need four daytime full bridge closures to complete our work safely.
Mid-January and early February
You can expect the first set of closures in mid-January 2026 and the second to happen in early February.
During the closures, you can expect:
- The Old Youngs Bay Bridge to close from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- A signed detour around the closure using the U.S. 101 New Youngs Bay Bridge.
Our timing may change. We'll send out another update when we have a better idea about our schedule and the days of the closures.
As work continues, you can expect:
- Crews working mostly during the day.
- Single lane closures Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Possible nighttime single lane closures as needed, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Up to four full daytime bridge closures with detours during the project.
- Construction noise and delays.
In the event of high or king tides, crews may need to switch to night work to stay on schedule. Please use caution when driving through the area.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work. Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
