Funding opportunity for EV charging projects at multifamily housing, workplaces and public areas opens Nov. 6
This EV charging station at a Woodburn apartment complex was funded by the program.

The fourth funding opportunity for EV charging station projects at multifamily homes, workplaces and publicly accessible parking areas opens Nov. 6, 2025.
The funding comes from the Community Charging Rebates program, which offers rebates for Level 2 EV charging station projects throughout Oregon. Rebates cover $8,000 per charging port or up to 80% of eligible projects costs, whichever is lower.
This round we have $3 million available via a federal grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. The grant must be used for the rebates program and legally can’t fund other ODOT programs or road maintenance.
Eligible businesses, nonprofits, public entities, Tribes, and owners of multifamily home complexes may apply.
We reserve 70% of funding for projects in rural and predominantly low-income communities. The program webpage has a map of priority locations.
We distribute program funds on a first-come, first serve basis. The funding opportunity closes March 31, 2026 or when the $3 million runs out, whichever happens first.
Changes to the rebates program
We’ve made some changes to the program based on experience and community feedback.
-
Higher rebate amount. We increased the rebate amount to $8,000 per port to cover new requirements about networking, service agreements and warranties.
-
Maximum funding amounts. We added maximum funding amounts for a single project and to a single entity. This will help us fund more projects overall.
-
Data reporting requirements. All funded projects must report usage data for the next five years. We’ll use the data to monitor station uptime and measure reductions to greenhouse gas emissions.
Join a program information webinar Nov. 5
Our nonprofit contractor, Forth, will host an information webinar about the program on Nov. 5. The session will cover rebate amounts, eligibility, and how to apply. They’ll also have time for Q&A with attendees.
Accelerating Oregon’s transition to EVs is one of the ways we’re working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. By 2050, our data says Oregon is on track to reduce emissions by about 60%. Learn how we’ll get there on Oregon’s transportation emissions website.
We're recruiting for some positions that provide vital services to our state.
