Important Announcement

Announcement

The 2025 ADA Curb Ramp Certification Digital Training and Exams will be offline December 1. Please plan to complete your Field Exam by November 5. If you are recertifying, you must complete and pass the online exam by December 1.

The 2026 ADA Curb Ramp Certification Curriculum will be made available in mid-January.


Instructor Spotlight

Magnus

Magnus Bernhardt will be replacing Bob Marshall as one of the Environmental Construction Inspector and Erosion and Sediment Control Manager instructors this season. He is a licensed landscape architect and has been with ODOT for 18 years.  Previously, he worked as a consultant on private and public projects. He is the interim Roadside Development and Erosion and Sediment Control Programs Leader. He is also the Region 1 LA, and designs ESC and Roadside projects in Region 1, and supports Region 2 to help balance workloads. Magnus enjoys working in teams to develop the best possible projects that protect the environment and leverage opportunities for sustainable solutions.

Technician Training

Does your company work on or supply material to an AWP ODOT contract? We have specialized in-person materials training available for you. Topics include Sample Records, Test Management, Materials Sources, Daily Source Reports, and External Labs.
(For ODOT Certifications: CAgT, CAT-I, CDT, CEBT, CSTT, QCT).

Register in Workday Learning. (External Non-ODOT Users need to create a Workday account to register.) Upcoming class dates: Nov 18 and Dec 2 from 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. (PST) at the Salem Materials lab located at 800 Airport Road SE.

Certified Payroll for Primes & Subs

Our next scheduled online training is Nov. 6 and Dec 4 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon (PST). Let us know if you plan to attend at AWPAdmin@odot.Oregon.gov. Find the Teams link for this training on the AWP Website.

Have you taken the initial CPR training? Would you like to review the Payroll process again now that you are working in your AWP contract? Please join us at an online payroll training anytime for review.

Monthly inspector certification challenge events will be offered at the ODOT Salem Materials Lab on the following dates: 10/23, 11/20 and 12/18. To register for a future challenge exam, please complete the ODOT Inspector Exam Registration Form. See the Inspector Certification web page for links to electronic study resource materials.

Plan Reading Series (1 hour) - New to Construction? Go through the first module prior to an inspector training course. You can familiarize yourself with the basics of plan reading.

Math Module - If it has been a while since your last math class, this is useful as background for all of the certification courses.

Construction materials technician training will be administered through our Industry Partners: Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon, American Concrete Institute of Oregon and Oregon Concrete and Aggregate Producers Association.
