We're returning this week to work on ADA curb ramps
|

Our crews have been working on ADA curb ramps to improve accessibility for everyone.
We paused work earlier this summer in Vernonia, but we're back in town this week.
|

You can expect:
- Crews working mostly during the day, Monday through Friday.
- Occasional night work as needed.
- Shoulder and lane closures as needed.
- Flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.
- Delays and construction noise.
We're saw cutting in the downtown area – this work can be loud. You'll see more activity in town the first week of September after Labor Day.
|
Why are ADA curb ramps important?
ADA curb ramps make it easier for people to move between the sidewalk and road. This can be helpful for those who have trouble stepping up and down high curbs. It's also helpful for people using wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, hand carts and bicycles.
By making curb ramps gently slope to the road, it improves accessibility and makes it easier for everyone to get around, whether they have a disability or not.

  Planning a trip through Mist?
We've been replacing a culvert in Mist that requires a full OR 47 closure.
You can use OR 47, U.S. 20 and Apiary Road to get around the full closure.
You can expect to see crews working Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 Funding information
While ODOT’s funding crisis is having a profound impact on maintenance and operations, most projects will continue. These projects are typically funded through separate programs, often with state or federal funds that are legally restricted to project development and cannot be used for maintenance or day-to-day operations. For more information on ODOT’s funding crisis, visit our website.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work. Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.
Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
